Natural stone is beautiful and is perfect for many applications, however, it is sometimes heavy and difficult to affix as a decorative façade. For example, a stone fireplace could require reinforcement of the floor under the fireplace.Cultured stone products are made of lighter composites (sometimes made from a mix of cement and other materials) with a hard stone-like surface. Thinstone (a natural stone product) is comparable in weight, price and installation to artificial cultured stone. With Thinstone, installation is quick, and you won't be able to tell the difference whether it's 5-inches thick or 1 1/2 inches thick. The lightness of Cultured Stone and Thinstone products make them easier to install on almost any surface and are available in a huge variety of colors, textures and combinations.
